Omaha fire station hosts lost dog after her owner had a medical emergency

OMAHA, NE – Omaha firefighters were out for gas when she ran across the road. A blur of black fur in a bright pink harness in the middle of 16th Street.

Omaha firefighters encountered a lost dog named Gracie while on a gas run. They followed her and discovered she had run away from her owner during a medical emergency. The firefighters took care of Gracie at Station 41 until her family could retrieve her. Gracie received food, shelter, a bath, and grooming during her stay. Her photo was posted on the Lost Pets of Omaha Area website, leading to her reunion with her family through the efforts of a rescue group and the firefighters. Gracie’s aunt is caring for her until her owner is released from the hospital.
