Prestigious Wyoming pup will travel to the Big Apple for national dog show

DOUGLAS, Wyo. – Meet Rowan, a five-year-old Bracco Italiano living in Douglas, Wyoming. He was invited to compete at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show this May in New York City.

Rowan’s owner, Jenni Nieft, says, “I’m so proud, I don’t even know how to put it into words… It is rare to get a top-winning dog, it’s really rare. I’ve been showing dogs for 30+ years, and you always dream about winning, you always want to go to Westminster. This is my first ever. My first best-in-show winning dog, first group winning dog, first invite to Westminster. He’s given us a lot of firsts, he’s exceptional.”

The Bracco Italiano was first recognized by the American Kennel Club in 2022. The breed is thought to be the oldest European pointer, with roots tracing as far back as the fourth century.
