Puppy stuck on frozen NJ lake for hours brought home to safety with help of drone

Parsippany, NJ – A 20-month-old Sheepadoodle named Brooklyn was rescued after being stranded for nearly a day on frozen Lake Parsippany in New Jersey.

The dog, who had run from her dogsitter on Christmas Eve, was scared and refused to return despite attempts to lure her with food, including chicken. Her owner was out of town for the holidays.

Local resident Kishan Patel, who lives by the lake and has his own dog, used his drone to help authorities locate Brooklyn. The drone was initially used to entice the dog with chicken, but Brooklyn fled when she saw people.

Later that night, the drone pinpointed her location, and a police officer safely reached her, causing her to run to a nearby porch, where she was eventually found.

Brooklyn was returned home safely, and Patel expressed relief and empathy for the dog’s owner, noting how heartwarming it was to use his drone for such a positive purpose.
