Three huskies taken away by animal control after they attack cat

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Kent County Animal Control has seized three huskies after they attacked and killed a cat named Mrs. P in Grand Rapids.

Owners Charlie and Harrison Remelts shared that Mrs. P had been part of their family for 13 years, having been adopted after initially being a stray.

The brothers witnessed the attack outside their home, where the huskies were reportedly seen attacking their cat before being shooed away. They expressed concern over the dogs’ repeated escapes and the threat they pose to other animals.

Animal Control confirmed the huskies are in custody pending a review by the prosecutor’s office, while the Remelts believe the owners should be held accountable for the negligence that led to the incident.
