Veteran Turned Dog Trainer Helps Fellow Vets with Service Dogs and Training

CLEVELAND, OH – Josh Lopez, a retired U.S. Navy Petty Officer First Class, is on a mission to support his fellow veterans by combining his military experience with his dog training expertise.

As the owner of Dog Training Elite in Cleveland, Lopez trains veterans to become dog trainers themselves while also providing service dogs to assist with challenges like PTSD, anxiety, and other mental health issues.

Lopez, who has firsthand experience in Iraq and Afghanistan, is uniquely positioned to relate to the struggles of fellow veterans, which enhances the impact of his work. His service dogs offer critical support, helping veterans navigate day-to-day life and providing them with much-needed peace of mind.

In addition to training service dogs, Lopez helps veterans train dogs for various needs, including alerting diabetic owners to blood glucose changes, assisting children with autism, and offering general obedience training for pets. Through his work, Lopez is giving back to the veteran community in a way that is both practical and deeply personal.
