Deputies seize 33 dogs, iguana from Mississippi home in animal cruelty investigation

Arkabutla, MS – Authorities in Tate County, Mississippi, busted a puppy mill over the weekend, and now there’s no room at the county animal shelter in Senatobia as workers deal with the sudden influx of animals.

Deputies with the Tate County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search at a home in the 2000 block of Prichard Road in Arkabutla on Saturday as part of an ongoing animal cruelty investigation.

Tate County Sheriff Luke Shepherd said his investigators seized 33 dogs and one iguana from the property and that when deputies raided the home, some of those dogs were close to death.
