Paris, FR – At Paris Charles-de-Gaulle Airport, two runways were closed on Tuesday as officials continued their efforts to capture a dog that escaped from an Air France aircraft a week earlier.
The female dog, owned by an Austrian tourist, slipped out of her carrier during an unloading operation last Tuesday. Despite numerous search efforts, including nighttime searches with the owner present, the dog has eluded capture.
On Tuesday, airport police deployed a drone to help locate the dog, and officials planned to tranquilize her with a needle once they got close enough. Air France is covering the owner’s hotel costs during the search, and posters have been put up to alert airport staff.
This incident follows a similar case in September 2023, when a Chihuahua mix escaped at Atlanta’s airport and was found after 22 days.
A young Croatian tourist Míša has launched an appeal on social media to find her dog, who escaped from the baggage hold of her plane just after landing at Charles-de-Gaulle airport.
